EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC

Minutes:

Resolved: That under Section 100 (A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the whole item, including the decisions referred to at Agenda item3 on the grounds that it would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Resolved:  That the minutes of the meeting held on 21st July 2014 be signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

HOME TO SCHOOL TRANSPORT APPEALS pdf icon PDF 57 KB

To consider appeals against decisions made to refuse assistance with Home to School Transport.

The Committee considered two appeals that had been lodged in connection with decisions taken by officers within the Childrens Services Department not to provide assistance with home-to-school transport.

Mr Stone presented the cases on behalf of the Authority.

The Appellants for both cases were in attendance.

Resolved:  That in both cases, the appeal be refused and the original decision by the officers be upheld, on the grounds that this decision had been made in accordance with the Council’s Policy on School Transport and it was not considered that there were sufficient special circumstances or considerations to justify overriding the Policy.
