WARD GRANTS

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2018/2019. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Galley and Williams of Anchorsholme Ward have requested:

(i)£4,000 as funding to the Street Scene Department for the purchase and installation of two new bus shelters within Anchorsholme Ward.

(ii)£1,000 as funding to the Library Service for the purchase of new children’s books for Anchorsholme Library.

(iii)£4,350 as funding to the Highways Department for provision of constructing a trench in East Pines Park for a CCTV camera pole and cable.

(iv)£3,538 as funding to the Community Safety Division for the supply and fitting of a new CCTV camera in East Pines Park.

(v)£2,640 as funding to the Street Scene Department for purchase and installation of 5 new litter bins a various locations within Anchorsholme Ward.

 

Councillors Cain and Hobson of Bloomfield Ward have requested £425.90 as funding to Bloomfield East Residents and Community Association to purchase a vacuum cleaner, computer printer and 8 folding plastic tables to assist with activities at the Association.

 

Councillors Hutton and L Taylor of Clifton Ward have requested £3,144.25 as funding to the Highways Department to support highway works to a section of the carriageway at the junction of Brantree Road and Bowness Avenue.

 

Councillors Ryan and Wright of Greenlands Ward have requested:

(i)£25,000 as funding to The Rock Gardens Group to support shelter alterations at the Rock Gardens, to include kitchen and toilet facilities.

(ii)£30 as part funding to the Library Service for the purchase of new books for Palatine and Revoe Libraries.

 

Councillors D Coleman and Critchley of Hawes Side Ward have requested £1,200 as funding to South Shore Fire Cadets to support 4 Hawes Side Fire Cadets with their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

 

Councillors Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Wards have requested:

(i)£1,650 as funding to the Alley Gates Team for the purchase and installation of an alley gate between numbers 81 and 83 Ivy Avenue, to include £300 advertising costs.

(ii)£100 as funding to Molyneux Drive Community Association to support a social evening at the Association to raise funds for Hedgehog Rescue Blackpool.

(iii)£150.50 as funding to Molyneux Drive Community Association for payment for a TV Licence for the Community Centre.

Councillors Cross and Rowson of Ingthorpe Ward have requested £2,350 as funding to the Community and Environmental Services Department towards the repainting of road lines within Ingthorpe Ward.

 

Councillors Benson and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested:

(i)£2,400 as funding to the Parks Department to paint playground markings on the newly resurfaced playground at Kingscote Park.

(ii)£1,672.08 as funding to the Highways Department to repaint the road markings around Layton Square roundabout and zebra crossing.

(iii)£347.24 as funding to Layton Primary School towards new reading books for KS1 pupils.

 

Councillors Elmes and Singleton of Marton Ward have requested £2,000 as funding to Blackpool Boccia Club to support the running of the sports club for disabled adults.

 

Councillor Campbell and Kirkland of Park Ward have requested £3,000 as funding to Redeeming Our Communities in support of a garden project a Grange Park.

 

Councillors Roberts and Stansfield of Stanley Ward have requested:

(i)£880 as funding to the Environmental Services Department for the purchase and installation of two new litter bins on Midgeland Road.

(ii)£5,000 as funding to Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Primary School towards the purchase of a polytunnel and plants as part of a healthy living project.

 

Councillors I Coleman and Smith of Talbot Ward have requested £3,300 as funding to the Parks Department towards maintenance works and tree planting on Newcastle Avenue.

 

Councillors Collett and Matthews of Tyldesley Ward have requested:

(i)£4,350 as funding to the Alley Gates Team for the purchase and installation of alley gates on Somerset Avenue, to include £300 advertising costs.

(ii)£1,000 as funding to Blackpool Art Society towards upgrading the Society studio, particularly the kitchen area.

 

Councillors D Scott and M Scott of Warbreck Ward have requested £841.40 as funding to Holy Family Catholic Primary School for the purchase of new books for pupils for home reading.

 

Councillors O’Hara and Robertson BEM of Waterloo Ward having requested £3,260 as funding to the Parks Department towards maintenance and replanting of the area outside the Waldorf Hotel.
