WARD GRANTS

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2018/2019. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Benson and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested £439.40 as funding to the Libraries Department for the purchase of new furniture and equipment for Layton Library.

 

Councillors Mrs Callow and P Callow of Norbreck Ward have requested £400 as funding to the Parks Department for purchase and installation of a second-hand swing unit to replace the damaged unit at Carr Road Playground.

 

Councillors Roberts and Stansfield of Stanley Ward have requested:

(i)£11,000 as funding to the Highways Department for the replacement of 1 Bus Shelter outside Hawes Side Library and upgrade 4 Bus Shelters in the Ward from steel to Perspex.

(ii)£650 as funding to the Parks Department for the provision of additional grass mowing for the season 2018/2019 on the verges of Highfield Road East.

(iii)£1,607.20 as funding to the Environmental Services Department for the purchase and installation of 5 new litter bins in Stanley Ward.

(iv)£2,000 as funding to the Libraries Department for the purchase of new children’s book stock for Palatine Library.

 

Councillors Collett and Matthews of Tyldesley Ward have requested £300 as funding to the Neighbourhood Services Department for the purchase and installation of alley gate signs for the alley gates on Cunliffe Road.

 

Councillors D Scott and M Scott of Warbreck Ward have requested £895 as funding to St Stephens on the Cliffs Church for the purchase and installation of a wi-fi system in the community halls.
