The Head of Licensing Service deals with a number of requests for licences under the Licensing Act, the Gambling Act and other pieces of legislations. Details of the licences, applied for and granted are outlined in the report.

26/11/2019 - CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ADULT HARM REDUCTION, ASSERTIVE OUTREACH TOGETHER WITH NON CLINICAL SEXUAL ADULT HEALTH HARM REDUCTION SERVICES ref: 1509    Recommendations Approved

To seek approval for the appointment of Renaissance UK for the Provision of Drugs and Alcohol Adult Harm Reduction, Assertive Outreach together with Non Clinical Sexual Adult Health Harm Reduction Services.

25/11/2019 - LEARNING DISABILITY AND AUTISM SHORT BREAKS SERVICE ref: 1507    Recommendations Approved

To consider the development of a purpose built six-bed accommodation unit, situated at 2-4 Ambleside Road,  which will provide a short break service and enhanced respite care for adults with a learning disability and/or autism with complex and challenging needs. The capital cost of the scheme is estimated to be approximately £1.75m with NHS England providing funding of £1.6m and the Council contributing the land valued at £150,000.

Decision:

The Director of Adult Services agreed the recommendations as outlined above namely:

 

  1. To agree to the development of a purpose built six-bed accommodation unit, situated at 2-4 Ambleside Road,  which will provide a short break service and enhanced respite care for adults with a learning disability and/or autism with complex and challenging needs.

 

  1. To note that the capital cost of the scheme is approximately £1.75m with NHS England providing funding of £1.6m and to agree that the Council contributes the land valued at £150,000.

 


25/11/2019 - WARD GRANT ref: 1506    Recommendations Approved

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2019/2020. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Blackburn and G Coleman of Brunswick Ward have requested £2,000 as funding to Blackpool Boys and Girls Club at Victory Road to help provide meals for the young people attending the club.

25/11/2019 - PROVISION OF STATUTORY FINANCIAL AUDIT SERVICES, INCLUDING THE PRODUCTION OF FULL STATUTORY ACCOUNTS AND FILING WITH COMPANIES HOUSE ref: 1505    Recommendations Approved

To seek approval, by Blackpool Council as a shareholder, for the appointment of Smith Craven to provide statutory financial audit services to Blackpool Council’s wholly owned companies.
