04/10/2018 - WARD GRANTS ref: 1269    Recommendations Approved

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2018/2019. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Hutton and L Taylor of Clifton Ward have requested £1,000 as funding to the Shed Men Group to provide support and activities for men suffering from isolation and mental health issues.

 

Councillors D Coleman and Critchley of Hawes Side Ward have requested £50 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for the clearing of fly tipped debris and weeds from the unadopted alleyway to the rear of Fairway Road.

 

Councillor Mrs Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Ward have requested £800 as funding to the Highfield Community Group towards a children’s Christmas Party, Bingo Sessions and group excursions.

 

Councillors Benson and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested £1,140 as part funding to the Illuminations Department for the purchase and installation of a large Christmas Tree with led/festoon lighting.  Layton Traders will be donating the other £450 required for the full cost of the tree.

 

Councillors Elmes and Singleton of Marton Ward have requested £4,000 as funding to the Parks Service to support the Volunteer Ranger Service on Marton Mere and surrounding ecological sites in Marton Ward.

 

Councillors Mrs Callow and P Callow of Norbreck Ward have requested:

(i)£1,790 as funding to the Illuminations Department for the purchase and installation of a large Christmas Tree with led/festoon lighting and extra Christmas features at the junction of Warren Drive and Fleetwood Road.

(ii)£3,883.75 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for the clearing all gullies in Norbreck Ward.

03/10/2018 - LICENSING DECISIONS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 1 OCTOBER 2018 ref: 1268    Recommendations Approved

The Head of Licensing Service deals with a number of requests for licences under the Licensing Act, the Gambling Act and other pieces of legislations. Details of the licences, applied for and granted are outlined in the report.

02/10/2018 - WARD GRANTS ref: 1267    Recommendations Approved

Councillors Ryan and Mrs Wright of Greenlands Ward have requested £160.50 as funding to the Highways and Traffic Management Department to install H-Markings outside the church on Salmesbury Avenue as part of a road safety programme.

 

Councillors Mrs Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Ward have requested £1,417.50 as funding to South Shore Tennis Club for Winter Tennis Lessons for 21 weeks at Highfield Park.

 

Councillors O’Hara and Robertson BEM of Waterloo Ward have requested £4,770 as funding to the Illuminations Department for the purchase and installation of 3 large Christmas Trees with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features throughout Waterloo Ward.

Councillors Benson and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested £670 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for the replacement of 9 litter bins in Kingscote Park and 1 litter bin on Onslow Road.

 

Councillors Elmes and Singleton of Marton Ward have requested £620 as funding to the Highways and Traffic Department to provide and erect 20 Community Concern Speed Area signs within Marton Ward.

 

Councillors Mrs Callow and P Callow of Norbreck Ward have requested £100 as funding to the Parks Department for the purchase and planting of tree whips on Mossom Lane to screen of property.

 

Councillors O’Hara of Waterloo Ward (Cllr Robertson BEM did not sign the form as he has an interest in this application) has requested £6,500 as funding to the Highways and Traffic Department to support the implementation of a residents parking scheme on Osbourne Road and Withnell Road.
