To seek to approve Assured Data Protection (ADP), based in Leeds, as the provider of backup software to Blackpool Council.

To seek to approve Volunteer Centre Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde as the supplier for the provision of Blackpool Better Start Early Years Volunteer Support and Development.

14/01/2019 - WARD GRANTS ref: 1328    Recommendations Approved

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2018/2019. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Mrs Callow and P Callow of Norbreck Ward have requested:

(i)£2,000 as funding to Norbreck Primary Academy for the purchase of new high quality reading books for the school library.

(ii)£3,850 as funding to the Parks Department for the purchase and planting of 11 trees in Norbreck Ward.

 

Councillors I Coleman and Smith of Talbot Ward have requested £2,656.75 as funding to the Parks Department for the purchase and planting of perennial plants around The Salvation Army Building at Raikes Parade.

Councillors Galley and T Williams of Anchorsholme Ward have requested £2,000 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for a street clean and weed removal with Anchorsholme Ward.

 

Councillors Clapham and Maycock for Bispham Ward have requested £1,200 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for a street clean and weed removal within Bispham Ward.

 

Councillors I Taylor and L Williams of Claremont Ward have requested £375 as funding to the Street Cleansing Department for the clearing of all rubbish and debris from Lord Street, High Street and Springfield Road.

 

Councillors Hutton and L Taylor of Clifton have requested:

(i)£830 as funding to Blackpool Boys and Girls Club Mereside for the purchase of sports equipment for the young people to use attending the Club.

(ii)£1,000 as funding to Freedom Church Mereside Social Seniors Club towards setting up recreational and educational activities every week.

(iii)£100 as funding to the Waste Management Team for pay a clean up of the alleyway at Highbank Avenue.

 

Councillors Benson and Mitchell of Layton Ward have requested £1,145 as funding to the Highways Department for the purchase and installation of 4 x Parking Scheme Signs for Leaford Road.

 

Councillors I Coleman and Smith of Talbot Ward have requested £120 as funding to Belle Vue Strawberry Gardens Action Group for the printing of leaflets to help promote the group in Talbot Ward.

 

Councillors Collett and Matthews of Tyldesley Ward have requested £2,000 as funding to Blackpool Music Services towards instrumental support, choral support, performance opportunities and bursary support of young people within Tyldesley Ward.

 

Councillors D Scott and Mrs Scott of Warbreck Ward have requested £3,180 as funding to the Illuminations Department for the purchase and installation of 2 large lit Christmas Trees.

Councillors Cain and Hobson of Bloomfield Ward have requested:

(i)£300 as funding to New Revoe Residents’ Association towards a celebration event as the group won the “Community Achievement” category at 24housing’s 2018 awards ceremony.

(ii)£300 as part funding to New Revoe Residents’ Association for the Christmas Switch On Event at Revoe together with Tyldesley and Victoria Wards.

 

Councillors Mrs Henderson MBE and Hunter of Highfield Ward have requested £1,590 to the Illuminations Department for the purchase and installation of a large lit Christmas Tree.

 

Councillors Collett and Matthews of Tyldesley Ward have requested £300 as part funding to New Revoe Residents’ Association for the Christmas Switch On Event at Revoe together with Bloomfield and Victoria Wards.

 

Councillors Jackson and Owen of Victoria Ward have requested £300 as part funding to New Revoe Residents’ Association for the Christmas Switch On Event at Revoe together with Bloomfield and Tyldesley Wards.

14/01/2019 - LICENSING DECISIONS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 13 JANUARY 2019 ref: 1324    Recommendations Approved

The Head of Licensing Service deals with a number of requests for licences under the Licensing Act, the Gambling Act and other pieces of legislations. Details of the licences, applied for and granted are outlined in the report.

Consideration of all representations received in response to the proposal to make a gating order restricting public access at all times to the highway that runs from the side of 3 and 5 Arnold Avenue in a northerly direction to the rear of 21 and 33 Broadway, Blackpool, by all persons except for adjoining owners and occupiers, the emergency services and other service providers.

To consider providing authority for the Council to enter into contracts with employers seeking to use the Chance2Shine Recruitment service through pilot period of 2 years.

07/01/2019 - BLACKPOOL LOCAL PLAN PART 2: PROPOSED SITE ALLOCATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT POLICIES - INFORMAL CONSULTATION PAPER ref: 1321    Recommendations Approved

The new Blackpool Local Plan comprises Part 1: Core Strategy, which was adopted in January 2016 and Part 2: Site Allocations and Development Management Policies document. 

 

This report presents theProposed Site Allocations and Development Management Policies – Informal Consultation Paperfor public consultation along with the supporting draft evidence base documents on housing, local centres, green belt and hot food takeaways.

  1. To defer any minor drafting and textual changes to the informal Consultation paper at Appendix A and the evidence base at Appendices B to E which do not alter the substance of the documents to the Head of Planning Strategy.
