DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members are asked to declare any interests in the items under consideration and in doing so state:

 

(1) the type of interest concerned either a

 

(a)   personal interest

(b)   prejudicial interest

(c)    disclosable pecuniary interest (DPI)

(2) the nature of the interest concerned

2.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

Minutes:

The Advisory Board agreed that under Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the restricted set of minutes within Item 3 ‘Minutes of the meeting held on 20 November 2018’, the whole of Item 4 ‘Blackpool Entertainment Company Limited’ and the whole of Item 5 ‘Contribution to Blackpool Council Marketing Costs’, on the grounds that they would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

The Advisory Board considered the minutes of the last meeting held on 20 November 2018, noting that there was a public and restricted version.

 

The Advisory Board agreed that the minutes of the meeting be signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

To provide an update on the recent work of Blackpool Entertainment Company Limited including a summary of performance for the period 1 April 2018 – 30 September 2018.

Mr Michael Williams, Managing Director, Blackpool Entertainment Company Limited (BECL) provided an update on the recent work of the company including a summary of performance for the period 1 April 2018 – 30 September 2018. He highlighted the progress made in the conference centre development and the challenges encountered.

 

The Advisory Board discussed the information provided in detail and agreed to note the update.

 

(Mrs Lorraine Hurst and Mr Michael Williams left the meeting following the conclusion of this item).

5.

CONTRIBUTION TO BLACKPOOL COUNCIL MARKETING COSTS

To receive a verbal update on marketing costs from Mr Steve Thompson, Director of Resources.

Mr Steve Thompson, Director of Resources provided an overview of the proposed contribution to Blackpool Council marketing costs from the wholly owned companies of the Council.

 

The Advisory Board agreed to note the update provided.
