Purpose:

The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £15,000 to each Ward covered for the financial year 2016/2017. The funding for this scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

 

Councillors Ryan and Mrs Wright of Greenlands Ward have requested:

(i)£1,000 as funding to Dwarf Sports Association UK to support a Greenlands Ward young person to attend the World Dwarf Games in 2017.

(ii)£700 as funding to Springfield Methodist Church as support for the Food Bank,

(iii)£300 as funding to Springfield Methodist Church for the supply and fitting of carpets in the church entrance.

(iv)£1,350 as funding to the Air Training Corps Squadron for the hire of the flight simulator for the cadets wishing to train as pilots.

(v)£1,400 as funding to St Anne’s Church Council Greenlands for the supply and fit of a new cooker for the parish centre.

(vi)£859.59 as funding at Friends of Devonshire Road Rock Gardens towards the purchase of maintenance equipment for the gardens.

(vii) £10,000 as funding for a programme to improve the regulation and enforcement parking to improve parking arrangements within Greenlands ward.

 

Councillors D Coleman and Critchley of Hawes Side Ward have requested:

(i)£250 as part funding together with Tyldesley Ward to Marton Heritage Group for the purchase and installation of a stone and base for the Baines Church of England Primary School Tercentenary Event.

(ii)£980 as retrospective funding to the Illuminations Department for the supply and installation of an Xmas Tree and Lights for Hawes Ward residents.  The Hawes Side Ward Councillors were told very late in the day that ward funding would be required for this project.

 

Councillors Hutton and L Taylor of Clifton Ward have requested £2,145 as funding to the Alley Gates Team for the purchase and installation of an alley gate on Penrose Avenue, to include £275 advertising costs.

The Leader of the Council agreed the recommendation as outlined above namely:
