Decision:
The Executive agreed the recommendations as outlined above namely:
- To approve the School Organisation Plan 2020-2028 for the period up to 31 August 2028 and endorse the conclusions summarised at paragraphs 5.7.
- To agree that officers seek to work with primary schools and academy trusts to reduce the number of primary school places in Blackpool to achieve an optimal level of surplus capacity during the lifetime of this School Organisation Plan.
- To agree that officers seek to work with multi?academy trusts to identify opportunities to temporarily increase the number of secondary school places in Blackpool, should this be required, in order to ensure sufficient capacity for Blackpool pupils.
